Today many forest owners lack forest data at a detailed level. At the same time, forest management could be conducted both more profitably and sustainably if we had high-quality digital decision-making data for the prevailing state of the forest. To this end Arboair is leading the transition to a digitized, sustainable precision forestry with high precision image analysis driven by AI algorithms.
Currently our solution relies on customers uploading their images to our cloud and letting our machines take care of producing the result. This makes it so the customers have to be in a spot where they have enough internet access to be able to make the upload happen, otherwise they have to go back to the office before uploading. We want to make it so the result can be seen on their device after the flight is done by running the analysis locally.
Therefore the aim of this research would be to try to reduce the size and complexity of our current AI model to be able to run on a mobile device with minimal reduction to the output quality.

About Arboair
It all began with a small sprout of an idea and a hope that this will grow into something better and bigger for us and others. We were commissioned in an innovation project to explore the potential of digitization in agriculture. This led to an idea that we evaluated together with farmers in the region where they found great interest in our services towards forestry instead of agriculture, as the problems occurred in the forest when they were most busy in the fields during the summer.
We are now in the process of revolutionizing the digitalization of the forest industry in some areas.
